Job Summary

Manages all project activities and priorities for the Director and team leads of the Cyberinfrastructure for Network Science (CNS) Center. Serves as project information manager and manage overall external communications with colleagues, collaborators, and funding agencies. Creates and maintains project plans for various externally funded projects. Tracks progress of milestones and deliverables. Manages and oversees task assignment for research teams. Oversees administration of all post-award contract and grants including budget monitoring and forecasting, processing and approval of various complex financial documents such as A21 effort reports, salary transfers, GEC, and transfer of funds documents. Manages projects and ensures compliance with reporting and accounting requirements. Resolves errors and discrepancies on C&G accounts as needed. Manages the compilation and submission of project progress reports to various funding agencies. Coordinates and facilitates collaborative research meetings, workshops, and conferences.

Required Qualifications

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree and two years of high-level administrative experience.

Ideal candidate will have strong project management and managerial skills; ability to conceptualize and organize projects throughout the planning process; a solid understanding of accounting and finance, preferably in research institution; advanced knowledge of spreadsheets for account development, forecasting, and reporting; ability to quickly develop proficiency with University and external agency financial systems; a good understanding of financial management processes and potential impact on project deliverables and outcome; excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to interpret agency guidelines and statements of work and formulate project plans and timelines; ability to foster and maintain collaborations with internal and external academic researchers; ability to deliver excellent outcomes under high degrees of pressure and sometimes short deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

MIS, IS/IT Management, or Business Analytics degree.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

Typical office environment. Must be able to perform detailed work; communicate verbally and in writing; interact with staff and clients; handle the stress of performing multiple concurrent tasks with constant interruptions under very short deadlines. Requires creativity in identifying complex problems and finding solutions quickly and accurately; attention to detail in communicating technical issues and implementing solutions; ability to change priorities as project expands or project needs change.
