Job Summary

Candidate must be able to work in a highly energized and dynamic work environment. Performs design, development, testing, deployment, documentation and maintenance of new and existing websites associated with Leveraged Services (IU Print, Leveraged Services websites). Candidates needs to understand the existing websites (design and code), determines system specifications, designs solutions; and creates original source code in a variety of languages to maintain web pages (both static and dynamic web pages). Ensures the security and integrity of the website code.

Develops, tests, deploys, and maintains the Leveraged Services websites (print.iu.edu,ls.iu.edu) that will run on web technologies like C#,.Net MVC framework, Microsoft SQL Server, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5,Ajax, CSS3,Twitter Bootstrap framework; owns areas of project planning ensuring utilization of good web development practices, testing, delivery, and maintenance support for existing and new Leveraged Services websites, and any other technology areas that may arise. Participates in the creation of websites according to the W3C and web accessibility standards, professional coding standards, and overall technical/development processes. Ensures that the website is cross browser (Firefox, IE, Safari, Chrome etc.) compatible as well as fully responsive across various screen sizes (Desktop,Mobile,Tablet).
Additionally, maintains excellent relationship with all members of the Leveraged Services team through careful consideration and thorough communication on design and development assignments. Shows initiative, creativity, and innovation in the development of stable, maintainable, and efficient websites.

Required Qualifications

REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree or three years of experience in .Net web application development.

Direct experience in web application development with specific focus on web development technologies including: C#,.Net MVC framework, Microsoft SQL Server, JavaScript, jQuery, HTML5,Ajax, CSS3; and demonstrated technical skills relating to cross browser and responsive web application development.

Ability to execute projects and articulate strategic technical needs and requirements to senior management; and excellent communication skills, written and verbal including ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong problem solving, project management, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, informatics or any technology-related area; experience in technologies like C#. NET, SQL, experience with Visual studio , React, or angular JS, IU CSS framework, Entity framework,WebAPI, RESTful API’s, GitHub, Unit testing frameworks like NUNIT and development methodologies like SCRUM for managing product development.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

The position requires 20 hours weekly, must be available to work between 8am-5pm, Monday-Friday. Work schedule is flexible as per your class schedule and convenience

Salary Range Pay is commensurate upon qualifications and experience with, base pay starting from 14$/hour, with a prospect of pay increment based on performance.
